    Default post-overheating problem

Hey guys, the e39 (98 528i)overheated once, let it cool and all was well. It did it a second time, but this time lost some coolant. After it cooled, we got it home and watched the temp real closely. It seemed to never leave the middle.

It's been parked for about a week now and we started it to move it and for about the first 10 seconds it stuttered and didn't want to idle and when I went back outside, it had made a good size plume of whitish smoke.

I just shut it off and I'm leaving it until I can figure out whats going on.
    Any ideas?

I know you guys are mostly e34 guys, but i figure the e39 engine / cooling similar to the late e34 525i
    Thanks guys
