I noticed my car smokes greyish-blackish smoke moderatly bad on accelerations, especailly hard accelerations, and espeically on cold days. I searched a little and decided that it could be my headgasket, PCV valve(or is it a plate?) or some of the gaskets around the intake manifold. It doesn't smoke at all at idle, and it smells like burnt oil when i stick my head out the window, so i don't think its the condensation issue i read about, although i think it does happen exclusivly on cooler days. I just need some dicretion as to where the PCV vavle is, and how hard replacing that and profile gaskets and the like would be, and if theres an easy test. Maybe a check list of things that would leak oil into the cylinders and what on earth they look like i haven't check my plugs yet for oilyness, but the valve cover gasket was done not too long ago. e34 m60 3.0L with 115k on it. after replacing the coolant all my hoses started leaking so i'm hoping the same thing hasn't happened to my head gasket.
