ive been looking at this 92' 525i 5spd that a guy i know is selling. it has really nice rims but there seems to be a bit of rust on the body,,,, how hard is it to fix rust problems?

IMO. I would stay away form any car that is showing signs of rust. If appearance is not an issue and the structure of the vehicle is not in jeopardy, then go for it. Otherwise, I would keep looking cause there's many well kept, rust free bimmers available and at a reasonable price. Good luck with your pursuit.
FYI - I would be willing to unload my 94 540I Automatic w/ 120K miles for 10K -- no rust included
